Allen Maniker , M.D.

Doctor Maniker is a Professor of Neurological Surgery at the University of Medicine and Dentistry of New Jersey - New Jersey Medical School. He is the director of the peripheral nerve center and the neurotrauma program. He is one of only few fellowship trained peripheral nerve surgeons in the nation and he leads an active research program in teh fields of peripheral nerve disorders and neurotrauma.

Dr. Maniker earned his medical degree in 1986 from Wayne State University - School of Medicine in Detroit, Michigan. He completed his General Surgery training at Beth Israel, New York in 1988, and Neurological Surgery training at the New Jersey Medical School in 1993.

After completing his residency, he was a Clinical Research Fellow in Neurotrauma at Medical College of Virginia, Richmond, Virginia; Clinical Fellow in peripheral nerve at the Louisiana State University Medical Center, New Orleans, Louisiana and Clinical Fellow in peripheral nerve at the University of Washington School of Medicine in Seattle, Washington. He is a member of the Congress of Neurological Surgeons, American Medical Association, American Association of Neurological Surgeons; Joint Section of Neurotrauma and Critical Care (AANS and CNS), Essex County Medical Society, Medical Society of New Jersey, American Association of University Professors and New Jersey State Neurosurgical Society.
